Over the summer holidays I have been working on a new group of work around layers - these can include texture and gold leaf. Much of the time I have been experimenting with textures created from interacting with natural objects around my home. The texture I have settled on is from hammering the silver (both sterling and fine silver) into basalt rock around my property since I live on a Volcano. The different rock produces an organic texture along with the type of hammer I use.
The "Wrapped" collection is being built around this beautiful texture, wrapping this into a cylinder or around other pieces and then layering these in 24ct gold leaf using the ancient Korean technique of Keum-boo.
